A Short Biography

         Partow Nooriala, an Iranian Poet, writer and literary critic, was born in Tehran - Iran. She taught Philosophy in Tehran University after her graduation in 1978.

         In 1982, after Nooriala was forced to stop teaching by Islamic Regime in Iran, she opened Damaavand Publications (Enteshaaraat-e Damaavand) in Tehran with the help of two female friends thus becoming the first female publishers in Iran. However, within three years, the publication was shut down by the government enforcement guard
